§ Lord E. PERCYI am informed that the Divisional Committee for the group of coalfields which includes those lying in the county of Stafford is holding its first meeting to-morrow. When this committee has met and elected its officers, a grant will be made to it for the purposes of the Fund. In the meantime I understand that steps have already been taken by the Stafford County Education Authorities, with the concurrence of the Lord Mayor of London and the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, to commence a distribution of boots to the children in cases of proved necessity in the mining areas of Stafford.
