HC Deb 04 February 1929 vol 224 cc1425-6W
Mr. LIVINGSTONE

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether his attention has been directed to the backward condition of the offices and buildings of the Scalpay School; and whether he will institute inquiries with a view to improvement, more particularly in regard to the supply of drinking water for the pupils?

Sir J. GILM0UR

My attention has been drawn to the matter. With regard to the offices and buildings, measures have already been taken by the education authority, which are considered to be adequate. The provision of a satisfactory supply of drinking water is attended with difficulties which the education authority are, I understand, endeavouring to overcome. I am keeping the matter under observation.
