HC Deb 04 February 1929 vol 224 cc1419-20W
Mr. RUNCIMAN

asked the Postmaster-General whether his consent has been given to the chief engineer of the Post Office, or to any members of his staff, undertaking work in respect to the totalisator which is to be set up on various racecourses under the legislation of last Session?

Viscount WOLMER

Arrangements have been sanctioned under which the Principal Power Engineer of the Post Office and two members of his staff are permitted to assist the Racecourse Betting Control Board on engineering questions coming within their purview, on repayment terms—provided that no undue interference is caused to the performance of their official duties.
