§ Mr. GARDNERasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that 21,000 hours overtime have been worked in the prison department in the course of a single year without payment of any kind; and 1418W whether in the forthcoming Estimates provision has been made for additional clerical staff to obviate this?
§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSI would refer the hon. Member to my answer to a similar question which I gave on 13th December last. The position has not changed since then, and I have not thought it necessary to ask for any additional clerical staff for 1929.
