Mr. ALLENasked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the relatively heavy fees charged by private registry offices engaged in placing men and women in domestic work, she will consider the advisability of Employment Exchanges setting up machinery for the regulation of domestic employment?
§ Miss BONDFIELDThe regulation of private employment agencies is not within the province of my Department. I may point out that the Employment Exchanges are available free of cost to employers wishing to engage men and women for domestic work and workpeople seeking employment in that occupation.
