Mr. SIMONasked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that the only late evening posting facilities in the suburbs 979W of Manchester are by means of post-boxes carried on certain tramcars which leave their termini at 9 p.m., and that waiting at stops for the tramcar causes considerable inconvenience, especially in bad weather, to large numbers of people who are obliged to use this means of posting their evening letters; and will he consider the possibilities of a return to late evening collections from post-boxes as in pre-War times?
§ Mr. LEES-SMITHI am having inquiries made and will write to the hon. Member later.
