§ Sir A. SINCLAIRasked the Minister of Labour the estimated number of insured persons aged 16 to 64 in employment on 21st November, 1929, or the most recent date for which figures are available.
§ Miss BONDFIELDAt 25th November, 1929, the estimated number of insured persons, aged 16 to 64, in employment in Great Britain was 10,173,000 (provisional figure). In arriving at this estimate allowance has been made for the numbers unemployed and the numbers directly involved in trade disputes, and a deduction of 3½ per cent. has been made in respect of sickness and other forms of unrecorded non-employment other than temporary holidays.
