Mr. N. BUXTON

The total net expenditure incurred by, or on behalf of, the Ministry in the years in question (including the expenditure referred to above) was £299,071 and £41,965,789, respectively. Included in the last-mentioned amount is a sum of £2,831,722 for the subsidy on sugar and molasses manufactured from beet grown in Great Britain. The above figures include expenditure in connection with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, but are exclusive of Fisheries Services.
