HC Deb 09 December 1929 vol 233 c84W
Captain BALFOUR

asked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware that Mr. T. C. Ranshaw, a disabled ex-soldier, was examined by a special medical board at the Ministry of Pensions on 3rd September, and that since that date Mr. Ranshaw has received no communication as to the result of the board; and if, in view of the adverse effect that this suspense is having on the health of the applicant, he will take steps to speed up consideration and a decision?

Mr. F. O. ROBERTS

A decision favourable to Mr. Ranshaw was reached a few days ago and the instructions necessary to lead to the award and payment of pension have been issued. The case proved to he one involving considerable investigation and difficulty of determination, as indeed must necessarily be the case where, as in the present instance, nothing has been heard of or from a claimant for nine years prior to his application.
