HC Deb 09 December 1929 vol 233 c63W
Mr. MARLEY

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will further consider the question of fixing the dates governing the coming examination for the executive class of the Civil Service in accordance with the spirit of paragraph 77 of the joint committee's report of February, 1920, in view of the fact that the present dates, while allowing a certain latitude, penalise a small section of young persons born between January, 1911, and March, 1911?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

The regulations governing the examination to which my hon. Friend refers have already been issued, and I regret that it is not possible so to vary their terms as to include persons born within the two months January and February, 1911.
