HC Deb 09 December 1929 vol 233 cc47-8W
Major POLE

asked the Secretary of State for India whether work has begun on the scheme to remove the Central Medical Research Institute to Dehra Dun, and if it is intended to proceed with this scheme, or whether, in view of the pro- tests that have been made by the All-India Medical Association and other medical associations in India against this proposal to move the institute to a centre where there would be an absence of clinical facilities and scientific co-operation available in larger urban centres, it is the intention of the Government of India to hold up work at Dehra Dun pending a reconsideration of the proposed scheme?

Mr. BENN

I have no information later than that I gave my hon. and gallant, Friend on 31st October.
