§ Miss LAWRENCEThe answer to the first part of the hon. and gallant Member's question is in the affirmative. My right hon. Friend is not aware of any substantial ground for his intervention. In any case, as my right hon. Friend informed the hon. and gallant Member on 5th November, the appointments and remuneration of collectors to boards of guardians are not subject to his sanction.
