HC Deb 09 December 1929 vol 233 c71W
Major POLE

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether his attention has been called to the excessive number of fatal and other accidents which have occurred in Hyde Park during the last two years; and what steps he proposes to take, either by the provision of more lighting or the establishment of a speed limit, in order to make the park safe for pedestrian and vehicular traffic?

Mr. LANSBURY

My attention has been called to these accidents, and I have referred the whole question of the safety of the roads in Hyde Park for pedestrian and vehicular traffic to the Traffic Advisory Committee for London and the Home Counties. Meanwhile, I am considering improving the lighting of one stretch of road, in advance of any recommendations made by the committee.
