§ Sir V. HENDERSONThe land acquired at Stonehenge as a result of the recent appeal is in charge of the National Trust, who are an independent body, working under Statutory powers. There has been no formal understanding between the Office of Works and the Trust regarding the preservation of the amenities of Stonehenge, but both 635W parties have been in close touch since the beginning of the movement for the acquisition of the surrounding land, and the present co-operation and consultation will, I hope, continue.
