HC Deb 19 April 1929 vol 227 c536W
Sir C. TREVELYAN

asked the Minister of Health whether, where the powers or duties of a board of guardians are transferred to a city or county council, a councillor who is holding a position such as that of doctor or public vaccinator under the transferred board will be compelled to resign his position as councillor if he is continued in his position under the new authority.

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I am advised that a person who after the 1st April, 1930, holds such a position as that of district medical officer or public vaccinator under a county or county borough council will be disqualified from being a member of the council.
