asked the Minister of Labour the wages offered to the men taught carpentry and bricklaying at the Birmingham and Dudley training centre at the expiration of their training?

Men who have passed through the carpentry and bricklaying classes at the centres named have been placed in a variety of trades and districts. The first placing is usually on probation with a commencing wage of 1s. to 1s. 4d. an hour.
