HC Deb 27 November 1928 vol 223 c245W
Mr. G. HALL

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has received representations from the Abercynon Chamber of Trade calling his attention to the dangerous condition of a portion of the Cardiff Road from the lower end of Glancynon Terrace to the Travellers' Rest, Abercynon; is he aware that this piece of road is one of the dangerous spots in the County of Glamorgan, a number of accidents, some of which were serious, having occurred there this year; and, as an improvement can be made to this road with very little cost, will he give the county council the authority to proceed with their scheme for widening this road?

Colonel ASHLEY

I have received the representations to which the hon. Member refers, and have been in communication on the subject with the Glamorgan County Council. I understand that the council are unable on financial grounds to proceed with the scheme at present.
