Mr. HAYES

asked the Postmaster-General how many male clerical officers, women clerical officers, writing assistants, and members of the typing grades, respectively, have been placed on trial for promotion to the clerical class; on probation for appointment to the clerical class; as examination appointees and as promotees, and on efficiency barrier tests in each of the ledger sections of the accounts branch of the London telephone service during the period 1st January, 1926, to 1st July, 1928, and, for the same period, how many in each of the above categories have had their period of trial, promotion, or test extended; how many in each of the above categories have received written warnings of unsatisfactory work during the period of trial, probation, or test; and how many in each of the above categories have been rejected at the end of the initial period or an extended period?
