HC Deb 15 November 1928 vol 222 c1118W
Mr. GREENE

asked the Minister of Transport what course he proposes to take with regard to the representations he has received from cities and towns urging that the left-hand rule for pedestrians be made general throughout the country?

Colonel ASHLEY

I regret that there is no generally recognised rule of the footpath for pedestrians, but the reception of previous attempts to influence the public in the direction of adopting the left-hard rule has not been such as to encourage a re-opening of the question.
