HC Deb 15 November 1928 vol 222 c1102W
Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has received a resolution, passed at a meeting of Scottish fishermen at Yarmouth, to the effect that no improvement in the fishing industry can be secured except by the reopening of the Russian market, and that the British Government should take steps to facilitate trading relationship with Russia; whether he has considered if; and what steps he proposes to take in the matter?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I have not received the resolution referred to, but I have seen references to it in the Press. I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given yesterday by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade to a question by the hon. Member for Orkney and Shetland (Sir R. Hamilton) on the subject.
