asked the Secretary of State for Air the total number of aeroplanes and airships under the control of the Government on let November, 1912, and 1st November, 1928, respectively?

On 1st November, 1912, when flying was, of course, in its infancy, four airships and some 56 other aircraft were on charge. On 1st November, 1928, the strength of the Royal Air Force was approximately 780 first-line aircraft, and in addition two airships were under construction but not yet in commission.
