asked the Minister of Agriculture if he can indicate the progress of the movement for the grading and marketing of English cheese by cooperative methods with the support of the Empire Marketing Board?

Since let June, 1927, when the Cheshire Cheese Federation commenced grading, the total quantity of cheese graded and marked up to 31st October, 1928, was 2,700 tons. The number of accredited makers at the latter date was 230. The English Cheddar Cheesemakers' Federation, which began grading on 1st August, 1927, had graded and marked 600 tons of cheese up to 31st October, 1928, when it had a membership of 318 cheesemaking farmers.
