HC Deb 24 May 1928 vol 217 c2076W
Mr. FENBY

asked the Minister of Health the date when it was first decided to dispense with the services of the ex-service temporary clerks now under terminal notice?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

It was decided early in December, 1927, that the requirements of the work for the year 1928–29 could be adequately met by a smaller staff than was then employed, and that this would involve the termination of the services of a number of temporary ex-service clerks. Notices were given on 24th January and on 12th April to the ex-service temporary clerks referred to by the hon. Member.
