§ Mr. FENBYasked the Minister of Health the date when it was first decided to dispense with the services of the ex-service temporary clerks now under terminal notice?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINIt was decided early in December, 1927, that the requirements of the work for the year 1928–29 could be adequately met by a smaller staff than was then employed, and that this would involve the termination of the services of a number of temporary ex-service clerks. Notices were given on 24th January and on 12th April to the ex-service temporary clerks referred to by the hon. Member.
