HC Deb 21 May 1928 vol 217 c1523W
Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many smallholders were in occupation of holdings on North Cluanie in 1925; whether any were turned off in 1927 whose claims had been before the Board of Agriculture; and, if so, how many?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I understand that in 1925 there was one tenant of a house and land at Cluanie, the yearly rent being assessed at £25. He does not appear to have occupied under landholders' tenure and was removed by the proprietor in 1927. He had lodged an application for a small holding with the Board of Agriculture for Scotland in 1917, but he did not press this until 1927.
