HC Deb 18 May 1928 vol 217 c1408W
Mr. KELLY

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty why the men who were discharged from the dockyards in April last were given notice which terminated on the eve of a holiday for which payment is usually made, and in consequence of these dismissals at such holiday were deprived of payment?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

The answer is in the negative: the men whose last day of work was the eve of the holiday were paid for the holiday.
