§ Mr. KELLYasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Commission on Compensation for War Damages has decided on the claims made by the Colonies; and if an amount will 1241W be paid to the men of the Maltese sea service who suffered war damage, seeing that their families are in great distress?
§ Mr. AMERYColonial claims are not a matter for the Commission, though they are being assessed on the same principles. When the assessment is complete—and it should be very shortly—the question ofex-gratia grants to individual claimants will be considered. In the meantime, I regret that it is not possible to make advances on account.
