HC Deb 16 May 1928 vol 217 c1052W
Miss WILKINSON

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that many sandwich-board men who advertise theatres are only paid 2s. 6d. per day, or 15s. per week if they work a full week; and whether men who accept employment at such low wages are thereby debarred from receiving half-pay unemployment insurance benefit?

Mr. BETTERTON

Unemployment benefit would not be payable in such a case. The Acts make no provision for payment of benefit for any period of unemployment of less than a day.
