HC Deb 16 May 1928 vol 217 c1052W
Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Labour the number of insured men and women, respectively, in Great Britain, classified in the general group entitled entertainments and sports, recorded as unemployed and in receipt of benefit, at the last convenient date?

Mr. BETTERTON

Statistics showing the numbers of insured persons classified as belonging to the entertainments and sports industries actually in receipt of benefit are not available, but at 23rd April, 1928, there were 2,972 men and 1,101 women in these industries in Great Britain with current claims to benefit.
