Mr. ROBINSONasked the Minister of Pensions the number of ex-service men on the P class employed in the Ministry of Pensions, and the number of appointments in this class which it is anticipated will be terminated within the next five years?
Lieut.-Colonel STANLEYThe total number of "P" class salaried officers, clerks and messengers, who are all ex-service men, employed by the Ministry of Pensions is 1,867. While some reduction of staff consequent on the diminished volume of work is anticipated within the period referred to, it is not possible to estimate the extent to which these particular grades will be affected.
