§ Captain R. HENDERSONasked the Minister of Transport whether the inquiry into the question of electrical transmission lines being carried over the River Thames at Clifton-Hampden has been completed; whether the inquiry was favourable to the proposal; and whether he is aware that disappointment is felt in the neighbourhood at the delay of his Department in granting the necessary permit?
§ Colonel ASHLEYI notified the Electricity Company last month that, after considering the representations that were made at the inquiry to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers, I had decided that I could not agree to the lines in question being placed overhead across the River Thames, but that I should be prepared to agree to them being placed in the bed of the stream.
