HC Deb 10 May 1928 vol 217 c424W
Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that the Gravesend and District Omnibus Company has increased the fares in order to meet the extra cost of the petrol tax; if he can state whether other omnibus companies have taken similar action; if he has received any communications from other parts of the country complaining of the increased fares; and, if so, whether he intends taking any action in the matter?

Colonel ASHLEY

I am not aware that the company to which the hon. Member refers had increased its fares, nor have I received any complaints of increased omnibus fares as the result of the duty on petrol.
