Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe total number of persons in receipt of Poor Law relief in Southwark Union (which is coextensive with the borough), excluding lunatics in county and borough asylums, persons in receipt of domiciliary medical relief only, and casuals, on Saturday, the 28th April, 1928, was 12,745. Particulars as to the total number of persons relieved during the last 12 months are not furnished to my Department.
