HC Deb 02 May 1928 vol 216 c1730W
Mr. BROMFIELD

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the outbreak of small-pox in the Lichfield workhouse and the consequent closing of the casual ward; what steps he is taking to prevent its spreading; and what alternative accommodation is being provided for the casuals who have hitherto used the casual ward?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

An outbreak of small-pox in the Lichfield Poor Law institution has been duly notified to me, but it did not occur in the casual wards which, with my sanction, have been closed since the 1st January, 1925. The second and third parts of the question do not, therefore, arise.
