§ Mr. BETTERTONAt July, 1927, there were approximately 16,190 boys and 33,030 girls aged 16 and 17 insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts in Great Britain classified as belonging to the cotton textile industry. Figures in respect of the children under 16 in the industry at the same date are not available. The following table gives for the cotton textile industry the number of insured persons recorded as unemployed in Great Britain at 26th March, 1928:
