WHITEasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the Excise Authorities have granted a licence for the sale of wines and spirits in the public market at Liverpool without any magistrate's certificate being obtained; and whether he will initiate legislation to prevent this practice in the future?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI understand that the Excise Authorities were advised that no magistrate's licence was required in this case. It appears to be a particular instance of the general question put to me by the hon. Member three weeks ago, and I have nothing to add to the answer which I then gave him.
