The following statement shows the trade in merchandise between Iraq and the United Kingdom, as recorded in the Iraq Trade Returns, in the years shown. Corresponding figures for 1919 are not available.

The above figures include the transit trade through Iraq. The imports from the United Kingdom of goods in transit were valued at £2,000,000 in 1925–26, and £1,200,000 in 1926–27. The exports to the United Kingdom of goods in transit were valued at £200,000 in 1925–26, and £182,000 in 1926–27. Particulars of goods in transit in earlier years are not available. The figures are exclusive of Government stores, and have been converted from rupees into sterling at the average ratio of exchange on London in Calcutta.
