§ The PRIME MINISTERThe hon. Member is mistaken as to the general practice of previous Governments. The only instance of a principal delegate to the Assembly of the League of Nations being drawn from a party other than the one in office is that of Mr. Barnes in 1920 during the Coalition Government. I do not think that Mr. Barnes could be ranked as a member of the Opposition at that time. It is not proposed to alter the character, though there will necessarily be some changes in the personnel, of the British Delegation to the next Assembly.
