HC Deb 21 June 1928 vol 218 c1787W
Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Minister of Transport whether, having regard to injuries caused by broken glass to persons involved in motor accidents, he will, in the interests of passengers and drivers, recommend proprietors of public motor vehicles to fit some form of safety glass?

Colonel ASHLEY

I understand that some omnibus undertakings are at present experimenting with the use of unsplinterable glass. The chief obstacle to the more widespread adoption of the material is its cost, which increased production and improved methods of manufacture will no doubt tend to reduce.
