HC Deb 21 June 1928 vol 218 c1780W
Mr. SMITH-CARINGTON

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the increasing prevalence of smallpox among casuals, he will consider the enforcement of a standstill order in respect of all vagrants?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The number of cases of smallpox among casuals has recently shown a tendency to decrease, but, apart from this, I am satisfied that my hon. Friend's proposal, which I have already considered, would not have the effect desired.
