HC Deb 06 June 1928 vol 218 c176W
Sir H. LUCAS-TOOTH

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware than the existing goods service for the fruit growers of the Wisbech district places them at a disadvantage compared with other districts served by other railways, which have a one-day goods service to the North and to Scotland, and with Dutch and foreign importers; and whether any steps can be taken to improve the service for agricultural produce in this district?

Colonel ASHLEY

I brought this matter to the notice of the railway company, and I understand that, as a result of negotiations which they have had with the Fruit Growers' Association at Wisbech, arrangements that are satisfactory to the association have now been made.
