HC Deb 05 June 1928 vol 218 c36W
Sir A. POWNALL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make arrangements whereby the lists of registered moneylenders at Somerset House may be inspected on payment of a small fee?

Mr. SAMUEL

Section 2 of the Moneylenders Act, 1900, under which all moneylenders were required to register themselves at an office provided by the Commissioners of Inland Revenue, was repealed by the Moneylenders Act, 1927, as from 1st January, 1928. Moneylenders are not now required to be registered.
