asked the Home Secretary what is the cost to the Exchequer of fresh meat consumed by the personnel occupying public institutions; what is the quantity for the years 1925, 1926, and 1927; and what proportion of such meat was British, Colonial and foreign, respectively?

The following figures show the quantity and cost of fresh meat consumed in Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum and in Prisons, Borstal Institutions, etc., in 1925, 1926 and 1927. As regards prisons information as to the proportions of supplies from different sources is not available, and as regards Reformatory and Industrial Schools, no information is available.
