HC Deb 19 December 1928 vol 223 c3040W
Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he has received a resolution from the Hull Local Pensions Committee, supporting a resolution sent to him by the Gateshead Committee, drawing attention to the hardship for an old age pensioner who has been an inmate of a Poor Law institution for medical treatment for a period exceeding three months having to make a fresh application for a pension, and suggesting an alternative procedure which would obviate this hardship by the issue of an emergency form by the pension officer to the master of the institution to be handed to the pensioner on discharge available for one payment and for obtaining a new book; whether this matter is under consideration; and what answer he is making to the Hull Pensions Committee?

Mr. SAMUEL

I understand that the resolution in question has been received in the Ministry of Health, and acknowledged. The point which it raises was dealt with in the answer which I gave to a similar question asked by the hon. Member for Newcastle-on-Tyne, East (Mr. Connolly) on 15th November.
