Mr. KELLY

asked the Minister of Labour the number of unemployed in the engineering trade in November, 1928; and whether this figure includes those who were engaged in clerical occupations in the engineering trade?

At 26th November, 1928, the number of insured persons in Great Britain, aged 16 to 64, classified as belonging to the engineering industry (including the manufacture and repair of motor vehicles, cycles and aircraft) recorded as unemployed was 92,371. This figure represents the total

such persons recorded as unemployed at 23rd July, 1928 and 26th November, 1928.
