Mr. SAMUELGifts in the form of Government securities were received during the 12 months ended 7th December, 1928, to the amount of £40,742. Gifts in cash were also received during the period, including the gift of £521,101 13s. 4d. by Lord Inchcape and his family, in memory of the late Hon. Elsie Mackay, and the anonymous gift of £500,000 to the "National Fund." Both of these gifts were specifically devoted to the foundation of accumulating funds for the reduction of the National Debt.
