§ Mr. FORRESTasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that many public conveyance companies in different parts of the country have raised their mileage fares by 50 per cent. or more on the ground of the imposition of the Petrol Duty; whether he can state the estimated increased cost per mile per person of ordinary motor omnibus and kindred vehicles plying for public hire; and whether he can arrange to have the facts of all such increases brought to the notice of the local vehicle licensing authorities concerned?
§ Colonel ASHLEYI cannot give the figure asked for by the hon. Member which would vary according to the nature of the vehicle concerned and the average number of persons whom it carried.
