HC Deb 11 December 1928 vol 223 c1945W
Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE

asked the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been called to the way in which our export trade in fishing tackle is handicapped by the limitation in the size of postal packets; and whether he can see his way to make such small increase in the permitted length, without reducing the girth, of such parcels as would enable exporters to make use of this means of despatch?

Viscount WOLMER

The existing limits of size are amply sufficient for most classes of goods, and I regret that it would not be practicable to adapt the arrangements of the Parcel Post to provide for the handling and conveyance of parcels in excess of those limits.
