HC Deb 11 December 1928 vol 223 cc1938-9W
Mr. TAYLOR

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the increasing congestion and dangers at the level crossings in the city of Lincoln; and whether he has taken any recent steps to urge the London and North Eastern Railway Company to construct the short avoiding line on the east and west sides of the city for which Parliamentary sanction was secured in 1924?

Colonel ASHLEY

The hon. Member has on several occasions called my attention to the level crossings to which he refers, but I am not aware that the arrangements at these crossings involve any avoidable congestion or danger. As regards the second part of the question, I understand that the railway company are not in a position to indicate when the avoiding line referred to is likely to be constructed.
