Mr. SAMUELThe number of "P" class clerks authorised under the Guinness Agreement was 8,000: this number was supplemented by the addition of approximately 900 "P.U." Clerks in War Office Outstations. The numbers of these clerks employed on 1st April, 1927, and 1st April, 1928, respectively, are shown in the subjoined Table, together with the number of promotions to the clerical and departmental clerical classes authorised up to and including 30th November, 1928. Details of distribution by sub-departments are not available.
