§ Sir R THOMASasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has yet arrived at a decision, in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Air, regarding the establishment of a regular air service between Egypt and East Africa, with a possible extension southwards, which was proposed as the outcome of an experimental service between Khartoum and Kisumu; and, if so, will he give particulars?
§ Sir S. HOAREI have been asked to reply. I understand that the basis of an agreement has been reached between Imperial Airways, Limited, and Cobham-Blackburn Air Lines, Limited, for the operation of an African air route, but pending the receipt of their proposals, which I am expecting shortly, I am not in a position to make any further statement in the matter beyond saying that I trust a through African service will be found practicable.
